Why We Love It
1. Raised Ranch. Listed with the auditor as a bi-level home, this is not your traditional split level. We refer to this style as a raised ranch because, unlike a typical bi-level, you don't make a decision to go up or down when you step inside; you walk right into the main level. The style gets its "raised" or "split" distinction because the garage is located below the living area. With all of the living space on the main level, you can live here like it is a 1-story home and just use the lower level like a finished basement.
2. Character. This house seems to have a unique personality all its own. The extras that add so much character include nooks and crannies added for storage, original hardwood floors, slate steps, a brick exterior on the front of the home, and a large backyard surrounded by mature trees.. Even the placement of the address marker on the front is unique to this house.
3. Open Space. The main living area is made up of a living room and dining area that are completely open to each other, and they both have direct access to the kitchen. The living room is already rather large but the size feels even larger because of the double windows to the front and open dining to the back. For a home built in 1963, they layout feels very forward-thinking. If you don't use the lower level room as a 4th bedroom, it can serve as yet another large living space as well.
What You Need To Know
As soon as you arrive you’ll notice the character I mentioned. I love the greyish-green tone of the siding with the green trim and how it looks with the brick.
As you open the front door and step inside you’ll immediately appreciate the openness of the floor plan as you walk right into the heart of your home. The open and inviting floor plan welcomes you into the living room that has large windows allowing natural light to flood the space. All the natural light will provide a great view of the original hardwood floors.
Passing through the living room, you find yourself in the dining area that opens to the kitchen. The natural flow of the floor plan makes this space perfect for gathering for meals, watching a ball game, or just to getting together with friends.
Speaking of the kitchen... white cabinetry, tile flooring, a built-in pantry, and room to add more storage await your master chef recipes (or your left over carry out boxes if you're more like me).
To the left, you’ll find the hallway leading to three bedrooms and an updated full bath. The neutral colors along with white trim give these rooms an updated look that will compliment most decorating styles. You will appreciate that the bedrooms all have easy to care for flooring as well.
As the owner of the home, you'll come to love that the master bedroom has its own door to the fully remodeled bathroom.
Back through the kitchen, you can make your way downstairs to the lower level. On your way downstairs, don’t forget to open the back door to peek at the large fenced back yard.
Once in the finished lower level, you will be pleased to find a large bonus room waiting to be turned into a fourth bedroom, man-cave, or whatever your heart desires. You also have the convenience of a half bath on this level.
There is also large laundry room with plenty of extra storage space and easy access to the large two-car attached garage.
This home has really raised the standards with its open floor plan, character, and convenient location.
