Why We Love It

1. Choctaw Lake. A private lake community located 30 minutes from downtown Columbus and 45 minutes from downtown Dayton; it's close enough for a daily commute but far enough removed from the daily grind. Homes in this neighborhood can run the gamut from $140,000 starter homes to custom built homes well over $600,000... there is something for everyone. The draw for most residents is the very popular and active Lake Choctaw, with activities already scheduled for 2016 including fireworks, 4 concerts, a fishing tournament, and so much more. The community has 24 hour security monitoring; a feature that visitors are made immediately aware of as they pass the guard shack located at the main entrance.
2. The Great Room.  From the exposed rafters of the A-Frame construction down to the beautifully updated floors, this space easily lives up to the expectations created by calling this a "Great Room". It is a large room with enough square footage to host gatherings but can easily be sectioned into different sitting spaces to remain cozy when it's just you and a good book ... and the built-in bookcase can serve as a decorating alcove or it could be arranged to be a perfect spot to hang your television. The large 3 car garage will probably be a focal point for many of our potential buyers as it give you place to store your toys for the lake, wrench on your automobiles, create a workshop, or just park all of your vehicles with a spot for your boat or camper next to the garage. We should also mention that the garage has 220 electric and a wood-burning stove too. There is even a stream running on the side of the property and great spot for a vegetable garden.

Our homeowners realized most of their dirty laundry was located in their bedroom so the brought the washer and dryer up from the basement and placed them in the large en-suite (also handicap accessible).

If we venture deeper into the great room, we find two more bedrooms and another full bathroom. Wrapped with more warm wood tones, one of these bedroom would make an excellent study or office if you don't require 4 bedrooms.

That's because upstairs is you'll find a HUGE guest bedroom that could fit multiple beds if you're looking create a bunk room feel. Getting to this bedroom takes you through the open loft that overlooks the entire great room. Options for this area are limited only by your imagination because it could serve any number of possibilities.

The Choctaw Lake community is active and you'll likely find yourself spending a lot more time outdoors that most of your friends. You can walk to lake for boating or fishing, head to the park for some exercise, and attend the many activities on the schedule. Many people view buying their home here secondary to buying into the lifestyle change it can bring them.
