Why We Love It
1. Farm Life. This home falls into the classification of a Mini Farm; with 11 acres this home can provide tax benefits if you farm it. There is a large external building for livestock, a fenced in pasture, and two additional fenced in fields for hay or planting. Sounds like farm living is the life for me.
2. Floor Plan. This home’s main living area has a completely open format with vaulted ceilings connecting the great room, kitchen, and dining area. The first floor also has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a first floor laundry so you don't have to climb any steps. But if you do head down to the basement, you'll find a full walk-out level that has the third full bath and more furnished open space for many possibilities.
3. Proximity. Live your country life without fully giving up the city. You're far enough away to feel the pace of life slow down a bit but still only about 30 minutes east of the Columbus outerbelt. With proximity to Zanesville, Newark/Heath, and Buckeye Lake, options abound when you journey away from your homestead.
What You Need To Know
As you approach the property you will see 11 acres of fenced fields and pasture set amongst trees and rolling hills. The road frontage is gigantic - over 0.2 miles - so you could consider subdividing the property and still have room to farm!
The farm has two side-fenced fields that the sellers currently use to bail hay and the third (completely) fenced area was used to raise livestock. That area has a direct connection to the farm building that is about 30x35 with a 15x30 covered awning.
Coming up to the front porch you will follow a natural pathway to the wide front porch. There is room for several chairs to sit and enjoy morning coffee or relax with your favorite drink in the evening. The home was custom built in 2002 with 2x6 external side walls for energy saving.
Main Level: Stepping thru the front door you enter into the great room. This main living area is an open format with vaulted ceilings, which helps take advantage of all of the square footage. Comfy carpet anchors the living area but the homeowners kept a country feel with the rest of the flooring, trim, and six-panel doors being pine.
Standing at the sink you can look out the back window to the woods where you will often see wildlife hanging out, especially deer. The kitchen has ample cabinets has plenty of room to have a portable island for food preparation.
The first floor continues down the hallway to a full bathroom, two guest bedrooms, and your owner's suite that has a second full bath for privacy. The pine floors carry to this side of the home as well.
Back thru the kitchen, you will find the first floor laundry/pantry, access to the oversized 2 car garage, and access to the basement.
Lower Level: The walk-out basement has been finished for more open living space and has a full bath with a beautiful clawfoot tub. This space is huge and offers many possibilities, including a comfy area to cuddle up next to a wood burning stove with a perfect view out to the peaceful countryside.
There are still multiple areas sectioned off for storage and mechanicals.
Exterior: Out the back door is a deck where you will get a chance to see plenty of wildlife; my first visit I saw three deer walking along the woods. The seller said the woods behind the property house a variety of wildlife.
There is a lot going on outside including a rear garage door with access to the attached garage. This makes it easier to park your car and access all your lawn equipment.
In addition to the 2 car garage, there is a 2 car carport, a garden center, and a large farm building with a covered awning. This building has room to park 2 additional vehicles, 2 livestock stalls, and still plenty of ground and overhead storage.
