Park-Like Setting
The two-acre property offers privacy and seclusion as it is surrounded by trees and wooded areas. A natural rock wall runs behind the back of the home offering a stunning view from the kitchen and open loft area on the second floor. There is a hill in front of the home that leads you down to an open green space where you can follow a path to the banks of the Scioto River. Nature has artfully designed this space that is a rare find in the Central Ohio area.
This Eat-In Kitchen
If you’re like most people, you'll agree that the kitchen is an essential ingredient to the perfect home. Many times, this space not only serves as the hub of the home but as the main entertainment area as well... and this kitchen will handle both crowds perfectly. Soaring ceilings and a full wall of windows offer a view of the gorgeous rock wall behind the home as well as letting in natural light. Can't you just picture yourself sitting here with snow falling outside, a fire burning in the stove, and a warm cup of coffee in your hands?
Unique History
I always enjoy hearing about the history of homes and this one did not disappoint. This home was originally built as an "Earth Home" until the 1990’s when additional space was built above ground level. Later in 2010, it was added onto again, this time expanding the kitchen and creating the second floor, above ground.

Follow the tree-lined driveway to reach this 5-bedroom, 3-bath, cape cod style home made up of over 3,000 square feet.
There is a large front porch that runs the length of the home, just waiting for a couple of rocking chairs facing the hill down to the river. In the fall and winter months, once the trees have shed their leaves, you have a perfect view of the Scioto.
First Floor
Enter into the cozy living room that offers wood floors, a fireplace, and two points of access to the kitchen. You will also find stairs leading up to the second level and the open stairway down to the finished basement as well.
Continue straight ahead into the kitchen. This space is large and open, making it one of my favorite features of this home. Abundant counter and cabinet space, as well as stainless appliances that are less than a year old, will have the chef of the home ready to whip up their best dish. This kitchen is well lit from the wall of windows that allows natural light to fill the space. The beautiful views outside have been inspired design inside as well; the bar of the island was handcrafted of natural wood and the beauty of stone wall was incorporated into the island and up the wall behind the wood-burning stove. This is the perfect kitchen for entertaining guests or just sitting down with a quiet breakfast.
The hall to the left of the entry area leads you to a spacious first-floor owner's suite that has direct access to the full bath.
This full bath has a shower and a separate Jacuzzi tub that are framed by custom brick arches. There is also a double vanity.
Across from the bath is a spare room that would make a perfect home office or hobby room, if you don't need it as a bedroom. We still have two more bedrooms upstairs and one more downstairs so you can decide later how you would like to use this space.
Both bedrooms on the main level have brand new carpet that was installed just weeks ago.
Second Floor
When you reach the top of the stairs, you will find a cozy loft overlooking the kitchen and out the floor-to-ceiling windows to the backyard.
Two large bedrooms are located on this floor. Both of these rooms, as well as the loft, hallway, and stairs, have new carpet.
This floor also offers a second full bathroom.
Basement
Follow the staircase down to the walkout lower level where you first find a finished open space that holds the laundry area.
On one side is a door to the unfinished area containing your mechanicals and plenty of storage space. This unfinished room was originally the kitchen when the home was built.
On the other side is a rec room that is currently is used as an extra family room, but you could hang a projector and have a theater or the ultimate set up for a serious gamer with a couple of TVs and consoles.
Follow the hallway out of the open area into a huge bedroom with a door walking out to a nice sized patio. For those not needing a bedroom here, it makes a great spot for a rec room.
Back out in the hallway, you passed a newly-renovated full bathroom that feels like some of the bathrooms I’ve seen on vacation at resorts or spas. The walk-in shower has a rainfall showerhead as well as wall shower jets. This space is finished out with a beautiful vanity.
Keep in mind while you’re downstairs that this floor was the original home. With that said it has the space to add a kitchen and become an in-law suite if needed.
Outside
Outside is a beautifully wooded 2-acre lot with a large open area at the bottom of the hill.
A paved driveway curves thru the trees and back to the home. There is plenty of space for extra parking if you choose to use the large garage for storage or as a workshop.
Behind the home and garage, you will see the natural rock wall I mentioned earlier. This actually wraps around the back of the home to the other side by the patio. This is an amazing feature that just cannot be replicated.
Looking out from the front porch is a hill that levels out into a flat open green space. I imagine with a little snow you could have a great time sledding to the bottom but for now, let your inner child out and do a couple of quick barrel rolls.😜
From this open area, you will see a path through the trees giving easy access to the Scioto River. Grab your kayak, fishing poles, or the flattest rocks you can find to skip across the water and enjoy the afternoon.
You can have wooded land, green space, a rock wall, all river access to get out and enjoy with your family and friends. After that head back to the house enjoy a meal with a view and spend the evening on your porch or patio listening to nature.
